Ο Τραμπαρίφας (Taxi driver) - 1951

A light piece about escaping the oppressive Athenian heat to a sea side bar. In what was to become characteristic of Greek laïko (Λαϊκό) music, in contrast to Rebetico, slang words are derived from other European sources, rather than just Turkish: τάλιρα (Italian: lira), ρέμπελη (Italian: rebelo), φουλαριστός (Engish: full!), etc.
